The genius of any small wine producer, but above all of a vigneron, consists in giving a singular style to their labels, in order to offer immediately recognizable cuvées, using the soil and climate conditions of the area and combining them with their own production philosophy.
Among the young Domaines that reiterate this concept, we find La Rogerie, a project born in 2015 from the intentions of Justine and François, both coming from historic families of winemakers, originally from Alsace and Avize respectively. “L’Héroïne” is one of their Champagne Blanc de Blancs, a cuvée of rare and fascinating finesse from the Grand Cru village of Avize. In the glass it is golden yellow in color, with fine and persistent perlage. The olfactory profile is full of fragrances of brioche bread, dried fruit, butter, vanilla and yeasts. In the mouth it shows the immense potential of the Avize terroir, revealing a good structure and a marked minerality, which unfolds up to a finish of astonishing elegance and inexhaustible persistence.”Héroïne” rests on the yeasts in the bottle for a period of over 90 months and the production is limited to a few thousand bottles per year.
